Warranty:
- The manufacturer's warranty against any defects in materials and
workmanship is extended to five years from the date of purchase on any NexStar
4 purchased by January 10, 2002.
Featuring high-quality Maksutov-Cassegrain optics, the NexStar 4 is an ideal telescope
for observing and photographing the wonders of space. Incredible light-gathering
and a full degree field of view give you views 189% brighter than a 60mm
refractor. Plus the Flip Mirror Control and Straight Through Photographic Port
help make short-exposure astrophotography a heavenly experience. Sturdy
construction provides an extremely stable observation platform making observing
at higher magnification much easier. Computerized capabilities like Auto Align,
automatic Tour Function, easy-to-use hand control and 4,000+ object database all
help make the NexStar 4 a superstar telescope.
The
NexStar has altazimuth operation (no need to polar align). Even if you can't
find the location of two bright alignment stars, NexStar will find them for you.
Just enter the date, time and your location, and the NexStar will align itself
to the necessary stars.
To
assist in the star alignment, the NexStar uses a lightweight Star Pointer
Finderscope. The Star Pointer is the quickest and easiest way to point your
telescope exactly to the desired object in the sky. It's like having a laser
pointer that you can shine directly onto the night sky. No need to worry about
the inverted images you see through traditional finders. Just align the red dot
seen through the Star Pointer with the desired star in the sky. It's that
easy.
With
the NexStar's ergonomically designed hand control, the user is free to remove
the hand control from the fork arm for remote use or leave it mounted for
hands-free operation. With a touch of a button you can select the object
catalog, change the slew speed, view fascinating information about an object, or
simply know if a desired object is visible in the sky.
Mounted
on a sturdy metal base, the NexStar sits securely on any flat surface and has
three rubber gripping feet for vibration suppression and traction. Weighing only
11 lbs., the NexStar 4 is extremely portable and can be mounted onto the NexStar
Tripod for use in the field.
The
NexStar 4's deluxe features combine with Celestron's uncompromising optical
standards to give amateur astronomers one of the most sophisticated and easy to
use telescopes available on the market today.
Operates on 8 user supplied AA-size (12v)
batteries.

The Registry of Nature Habitats - Mission
Statement
The Registry of Nature Habitats is
dedicated to the preservation of land that, over time, has been a
site and home for complex ecosystems. The Registry advocates
preservation of these lands and its inhabitants, environmental
education for community individuals and groups, and nurturing of
these lands through restoration in order to conserve its
natural resources for future generations.
Preserve
The Registry of Nature
Habitats manages critical habitat, consisting of wetland,
lowland, upland, forest and stream habitat, providing a home
to wildlife species and plant species. As part of
the mission to preserve these lands and its inhabitants,
the Registry will continue to contract with owners
of ecologically sensitive land as it becomes
available.
Educate
The Registry of Nature Habitats is
a "teaching ground," able to provide hands-on, interpretive learning
experiences in areas such as ecology, botany, wildlife science, and
geology, as well as the arts and humanities. The
educational mission of The Registry of Nature Habitats is
to teach an understanding and appreciaton of the environment,
the invaluable lesson of land stewardship of our natural resources,
and to expand the general knowledge of this habitat through
scientific research. This will be accomplished through a
year-round experiential, interactive approach, along
with onsite and outreach activities including providing
educational material both on this website, on media and through
educational seminars. An on-site facility is in the
design phase, which will house classrooms and an administrative
space.
Nurture
Through several restoration
projects, including the rebuilding of stream corridors,
reintroducing native flora, and permitting only low-impact
activities, the Registry is nurturing much land back to
its natural state, undoing the damage of hundreds of
years. The Registry of Nature
Habitats restoration plan, developed with public and private
partnerships and with local community support, will increase
the land's value, enhance wildlife habitat, improve water
quality, and preserve the integrity of the land's
bio-diversity. Renewable
Energy
Promote the use of
renewable and efficient energy technologies through education,
training, workforce development, research, and project facilitation.
The Registry supports clean energy development and energy
conservation as the means to protect the environment, enhance
public health, and save our nature
habitats.
Conservation
We seek to educate people and provide innovative
solutions that will help build a clean, more efficient world, by
reducing energy consumption in a prudent way that does not
threaten the natural balance that supports all
life.
